IC99 Web Comments:

How do we increase the functionality of UB conferences?
It was wonderful to see everyone - and I was soooo impressed with the kid's program. That was definitely one of the highlights! I'd love to attend conferences in a more "natural" setting... one that offers a more centralized gathering place... maybe a retreat center? I know that cost is always a factor, but we seemed kinda spread out at this conference. Thank you so much to all those involved - I know this was a huge undertaking.

Take a lesson from this year's organizers and serve.....

Can we get any higher???

Yes, Yes, Yes....just let the spirit direct us.

I love you all!!!

Chris thanks for the pictures although there could be more. Didn't get to go this year but your pictures bring back the faces of a lot of old friends.... thanks

I will leave my comments of enjoyment to another letter. It trully was wonderful! I found that the ending was abrupt. I would only suggest that a type of organized one-on-one greeting and so long could ensue, as there were so many people, it was difficult to say good-bye to all those we met. Maybe something that you see in sports, like the team to team handshake... could this possibly work? I don't know. Perhaps a type of queing that is found in square dancing... It sure was geat though. Looking forward to the next conference!

IC99 was a gathering of the spirit- keep that focus on living the revelation. Young adults would have jumped in and gotten more involved if they had a program. Workshops, events, and a plenary led by them would be wonderful.

Love the pictures!

Hello Chris and Andrea:

I am Anibal Pacheco. I am chilean UB reader. This morning I was watching your EQ99 photos. they are beautyfull. Thank youˇˇ

By another hand, your UB extract about religion helps me to understand my own religion. Thank you again.

Sincerenly
Anibal

I wish that conferences could be made more affordable for those who would love to bring their families, but are not wealthy enough to pay that kind of money. Spiritual experiences and dynamic fellowship like this should not have to be so dependent on money. Yet I am aware of the fact that facilities cost money to rent, as well as all the other expenses involved. It is a quandry....

IC99 was like the best of a party, a rock concert, a worship service, a festival, a gathering of good friends, a trip to a foreign country, an inspiring play, a jam session, and a UB study group bundled into one glorious week! UB conferences will naturally get better as it goes!

This was my first big triannual conference. It was fabulous. I was able to participate a lot playing bass in the band at Chan (what a room) for the opening and closing ceremonies and I voluteered to run sound in the Coffee House for other performers. The musicians we're wonderful and there was brotherhood in the air. I was also inspired by the teens, and in fact all of the children. I envision the time when my now 14 month old son will join in.

in brotherhood,
Mark Austin

You are doing a great job now, any better and you'll FUSE!!! Thanks for all the geat pics. It was great playing with you at the conference.

FUSE ? I might blow one but hardly a candidate. When a conference turns your lamp up, you just want to shine. thanks for the comment ;-D

How can one top near perfection (from the human viewpoint)? I saw the fruits of the spirit in action during this conference and THAT has inspired me to be a better fruit bearer myself!

Ladies & Gentlemen,
this was an awesome event - lots of fun, good people, good music, art, etc. You could literally feel the loving vibe throughout the week. We can change the world!

My one complaint? No t-shirts commemorating the event. Maybe next time. Otherwise, it was a blast. See you next time, or maybe sooner.

Have signs posted to where a event is held. A few times people did't always know which room the lecture was at..

I had a blast so much going on at once Vancouver is Beautiful glad I got to experience the Rockies..Awesome.. Yes, Colorado is the place.

Better Food. Everything else was Great! A Highlight in my life!!!
Many Thanks!!!!
Best Conference Yet! And that's saying a lot!!!

Sonny Schneider

IC99 was quite wonderful. I would echo two lacks -- decent food, a shock, since previous ones were quite good -- and IC-99 T-Shirts.

In addition, I would like more "mixing" time, time to simply interact with others. Lectures can be had at almost any time, but conferences are about the only time I get to meet most of you face-to-face.

Warren Wolfe

It was a wonderful and uplifting experience. How about at the IC 2002 to be able to display the name Urantia and the flag with the three blue rings, at least at the worship session? Without the trademarks it was like signing the American anthem without the American flag. The youth energy should also be “used“ to a greater role. The few that I talked to said that they would like to be part of the whole in a more concrete way. How? I don’t know but we should be able to tap on their energy, which they have plenty of.

Ron Cyr

I had a Vancouver buzz for 10 days after I got home!

My idea for improving the IC: the registration packet should include a Calvin-and-Hobbes-type replicating device. Then one of me could nap, one could attend all the morning sessions, one could party all night, several of me could attend the afternoon workshops, one could work with the fabulous children, one could spend all day hugging and gabbing with people, and one could take notes and make a big journal so I could remember every beautiful experience. What a joy it was to be able to contribute to the incredible sharing that happened in British Columbia this summer! Truckloads of serendipity were bestowed upon us this year, and I can hardly wait to do it again in Estes Park 2002!

Michelle Klimesh

I think this was the best Urantia conference yet! I loved the morning worships, and the workshops I went to were really great. I was especially >happy to see that everybody seemed to be getting along so well. Perhapswe're finally on the way to UNITY despite our strong independent ways of thinking.

Joy Brandt

Each conference is requiring the event to mold around the environment. For IC99, the layout was spread out which required physical movement. This was great. Exercise and many chances to shuffle and bump into someone you hadn't seen was a great symptom but on the short end it appeared as if events were being missed. I liked all the scheduled events and especially the morning plenary gatherings. Look forward to Estes Park. I'm sure some of my hiking tracks from years ago are still there.

The management team for IC99 represents the highest forms of organization I've run into for a classy spiritual event. I just wish it was affordable for all those who truly want to catch the UB fever in large groups.

Chris Yandall

One week in length, five days is too short. The planning of this conference takes 3 years, it would be great to have a couple of extra days. The UNITY, love, and brotherhood at the IC99 conference was sooo wonderful. Thankyou to everyone! Especially the conference planners, what excellent service.

Kathy George-Moore

What fun to find the pictures from the conference on-line. I had to leave before the big group picture was taken and I was sorry to miss out, but I had a great experience! I'm still high and looking forward to Estes Park!!!
Thanks for the pictures!!!!
My e-mail(roverboe@juno.com) has been down but I hope to have it working by Friday, Sept. 10.

The conference itself was an amazing experience. For me personally, it was a kind of coming home - if for no other reason than that I have come to know and love so many people from all over the country who attended. It is always a delight to refresh these relationships, begin new ones, renew lost ones, and work to repair broken ones. To me, this is the fabric of our life as a community, and I hope that we will continue to grow together in God's grace, as we attempt to follow Jesus, and to learn from the way, the truth and the life that He is.

Many blessings,

Francyl Gawryn

I HAD THE BEST TIME OF MY LIFE AT IC99 BUT SINCE MOST OF THE PEOPLE ATTENDING WERE FROM THE U.S., I FEEL THAT IT WOULD BE MORE AFFORDABLE, ACCESSIBLE, AND BETTER ATTENDED IF THESE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCES WERE KEPT HERE IN THE STATES, EVEN THOUGH UBC AT VANCOUVER WAS VERY BEAUTIFUL!

EVANGEL - A WHOLY SON OF GOD

I have been going to various UB conferences, big and small, since 1977, and the IC99 was the best one ever. After coming home, slowly the spititual high wore off day by day as the realities and distractions of mortal life took hold again. These conferences and meetings are just a small glimpse to what the mansion worlds hold for all of us. There was much truth, beauty and goodness everywhere one turned in Vancouver! Can't wait for IC02 in Colorado. Praise and thank Jah!
